Introduction

The Dr. David Chu Program in Asia-Pacific Studies is a multi-disciplinary program designed for students pursuing careers requiring expertise in contemporary Asia-Pacific languages and societies. Its goal is to develop basic language competence in one of the three major East Asian languages - Chinese, Japanese, Korean - and a broad understanding of the dynamics of economic and political change in this rapidly growing region.

Students may consult the Director of the Program, Professor V. Falkenheim, in the Department of East Asian Studies. For general inquiries, call 946-3624. For current developments, please consult the Program's University Web site.
